About the event
BAFTA-winning actor and comic Alistair McGowan joins pianist Mark Bebbington for an entertaining programme of music and performance at St Giles Cripplegate.
McGowan narrates Poulenc's enchanting setting of the story of Babar, a musical work for piano and narrator, based on the classic children’s books by Jean de Brunhoff. Poulenc captures the essence of the famous elephant’s adventures with the tender, witty and surreal atmosphere of his music.
The concert also features a glorious programme of piano works by Satie, Debussy, Ravel, Ireland in impressionistic Gallic mode, and some surprises!
