About the event

Internationally acclaimed soprano Rachel Nicholls takes us on a journey in song, across the channel, from the City of London to French terrains.

Accompanied by outstanding pianist Michael Dussek, the concert features a beguiling programme of French and English song.

From Walton’s song cycle celebrating the City of London to Poulenc’s romantic portrait of Parisian life, it’s a concert not to be missed. Here too are panoramas of France and England: Britten's emotional landscapes, Duparc’s idealised cityscapes, and Debussy’s impressionistic vistas.

Lyrical songs setting poetry by Wordsworth, Auden, Baudelaire, Verlaine and more.
