About the event
An enchanting lunchtime concert of musical works arranged for a trio of instruments first popularised by Claude Debussy in 1915. The combination of flute, viola and harp gained popularity for its unique timbre, with the flexibility of the viola unifying the sounds of the flute and harp.
The programme features Ravel’s elegant Sonatine, Fauré’s wistful Sicilienne, Takemitsu’s dreamlike "And then I knew 'twas wind" and of course, Debussy’s landmark Trio to open the concert.
This is a lunchtime concert lasting one hour with no interval, and takes place in the light filled interior of St Stephen Walbrook, widely considered one of Sir Christopher Wren’s architectural masterpieces.
